Celebrities Show Their Artistic Side With the Creation of Unique Holiday Cards to Benefit The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research
NEW YORK, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Celebrities get artistic to combat pancreatic cancer this holiday season by designing one-of-a-kind holiday cards with original artwork and a personalized message to benefit The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
Celebrities including Jessica Simpson, Julianne Moore, Jay Z, Donald Trump, Woody Allen, John Malkovich, Ja Rule, Kelly Ripa, Karolina Kurkova, Ashanti, Glenn Close, Adam Sandler, LL Cool J, Derek Jeter, Jessica Biel, Carson Daly, Hugh Jackman, Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal, Piper Perabo, Howard Stern, Kevin Bacon, Bill Cosby, Reba McEntire, Sum 41, Isiah Thomas, Diane von Furstenberg, Tony Danza, Jenny McCarthy, Edie Falco, Jon Favreau, Candice Bergen, Matthew Modine, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Bobby Kennedy and Chris Rock are among those who have created holiday cards.
"I was happy to take part in this great project with all these other really cool people -- Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Derek Jeter and more," explains Jay Z. "Hopefully we'll help raise a lot of money to combat this terrible disease."
All cards were unveiled last night at the 4th Annual Holiday Rock & Roll Bash charity event on Thursday, December 9th at B.B. Kings in New York City. Each celebrity's card will then be displayed and auctioned off exclusively on eBay from December 10 - December 23, with all proceeds to benefit The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. The key search words to log onto eBay are "cards for charity."
Select cards will also be on display for a limited time in-store at the Virgin Megastore in both Times Square and Union Square locations, as well as in the windows at Radio City Music Hall.
The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research is a not-for- profit organization established in August 1998 to advance the diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of pancreatic cancer. Named for Cablevision Systems Corporation Vice Chairman and pancreatic cancer victim Marc Lustgarten, the Foundation concentrates on stimulating the scientific community to conduct the research necessary to combat this deadly disease. To date, the organization has awarded more than $9 million in support of promising research initiatives, making it the nation's largest private supporter of pancreatic cancer research.
